VE-21 was bred by Jerry Lehman (Terre Haute, IN) and is a ‘Prolific’ x ‘Overleese’ cross.
The fruit is medium to large and has a light-yellow flesh, sweet, refined flavor, creamy texture.
It tends to ripen very early season compared to many pawpaw cultivars. It is good for shorter growing seasons and northern regions.
Hardiness: Suitable for USDA Zones 5-8.
